New Delhi: Karnataka MP, BJP leader Rajeev Chandrasekhar on Friday said China should be made accountable to its culpability of allowing Jaish-e-Mohammad chief Masood Aznar to roam about freely and mount terror attacks against people across globe and for blocking India's moves to designate him as a global terrorist by 1267 Committee by putting technical holds.

40 jawans were martyred in Pulwama in one of the deadliest attacks on the security forces in Kashmir, on February 14. On Thursday, a Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) suicide bomber rammed an SUV carrying over 200kg of explosives, into a CRPF bus in Pulwama district.

"China's culpability in allowing Jaish-e-Mohamad chief Masood Aznar to roam about freely and mount terror attacks against people in India and around the world is something they must be held accountable to," he said.

Aznar, who lives outside Pakistan, is the same man that the United Nation has been trying to outlaw and declare him a global terrorist. “This effort by the UN has been repeatedly blocked by only one country - China," Chandrasekhar said.

The Rajya Sabha MP spoke in response to a query on killing of Central Reserve Police Force personnel in one of the deadliest terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir when a Jaish-e-Mohammad suicide bomber rammed a vehicle carrying over 100 kg of explosives into their bus in Pulwama district on Thursday.

China has consistently blocked moves by India and other countries including US and UK to designate Aznar as a global terrorist by the 1267 Committee by putting technical holds.

Chandrasekhar also said that China has been the principal financial sponsor of Pakistan, a country which is financially and morally bankrupt.

Replying to a query, Chandrasekhar said despite international isolation, Pakistan Army has repeatedly been carrying out such attacks because they want to keep India busy on this issue so that they can make their presence felt in Afghanistan once American soldiers pull out from that country.

"Why Pakistan is doing this despite international isolation? Pakistan has a very perverse way of looking at issues. Pakistani army has got in their mind that there would be a power vacuum when American troops withdraw from Afghanistan. They want to fill that vacuum. They want to make sure that the Indian army and the Indian nation is kept busy with terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir," he said.

However, Pakistan would fail again in their nefarious designs as it had militarily and proxy wars in the past, Chandrasekhar said.

The MP also urged people, political parties and religious groups to stand united against Pakistan and China, who have been indulging in actions detrimental to India.

"We should also stand by our brothers and fellow citizens of Jammu and Kashmir, who desire a life of peace, tranquility, and direct our anger and angst in unitedly against Pakistan and China," he added.
