New Delhi:  According to a job portal Indeed.com the demand for content professionals is on the rise as many companies are trying to make their presence on the internet and digital platforms. Since the social media revolution, the e-commerce business is on the rise hence online presence through apps or website has become the priority for the companies to enhance their reach.  

The portal showed that 72% rise in job postings for a content manager and content editor in last one year from January 2018 to January 2019. Also, in last three years from January 2016 to January 2019, jobs posting for such profiles have gone up by 27% and job searchers for the same profile are up by 58% during the same period 

Sashi Kumar, managing director, Indeed India said “As more and more organizations are creating an online presence, it becomes essential to review and create any conversations around their interests.”  

he also said that “In an increasingly crowded marketplace, it is important to take ownership of one's messaging. Content managers or content editors thus become custodians of an organisation’s image.” 

The city which is leading for such job openings for a content editor or manager profiles is Bengaluru. The data showed 17% all such openings in India, is alone in Bengaluru, followed by Mumbai on second and New Delhi on third, which is around 10% each. 

The portal showed that the average salary offered by the companies for such roles is 3.5 lakhs per annum.
