New Delhi: Infuriated at Congress president Rahul Gandhi not apologising for the insensitive ‘hua to hua’ remark on the 1984 anti-Sikh riots by his close advisor Sam Pitroda, the community staged a protest at Congress’s Chandigarh rally.

The video of the protest has gone viral on Twitter.

Senior BJP leader Kirron Kher, who is seeking re-election from the Chandigarh Lok Sabha seat, attacked Gandhi.

Taking to Twitter, Kher said, “Rahul Gandhi it was a place of your choice, your time. But this Lion of a Sardar called out the murderers of 1984 anti-Sikh riots. The Congress says ‘jo hua to hua’, but Congressmen be ashamed. Hats off to the bravery of Sardarji,” she said.

In the video, Sikhs can be seen raising slogans of ‘Murderer of Sikhs in 1984, Congress, murdabad’ while Congressmen tried to heckle the protesting voices down.

Chiding Gandhi for the lack of development in his backyard of Amethi and Rae Bareilly, Kher said, “Rahul Gandhi had come to the rally from the Chandigarh International Airport, and yet at the rally, he promised to make an international airport at Chandigarh. Thank God that you did not promise to make an international airport in every sector [of Chandigarh].”

“Rahul Gandhi promised Chandigarh-made-phones. First, you must explain when will made in Amethi and Rae Bareilly phones hit the market. You have been fooling the people for 55 years. You lied a lot, now listen to the truth,” she added.
