New Delhi: Journalist Swati Chaturvedi took to Twitter to say that the Income Tax Department is in possession of a diary that belonged to a chief minister (hailing from the BJP), which details the payments exceeding of Rs150 crore to a current Cabinet minister. BJP MP Rajeev Chandrasekhar hit back by pointing the scams involving the Congress, under the watchful eyes of Rahul Gandhi.

Rajeev Chandrasekhar detailed out the 2017 steel flyover scam, which had to be scrapped due to the Congress's active involvement in corruption.

The Income Tax department conducted raids at the residence of Congress MLC Govindaraj, an influential legislator, who is known to be close aides of top leaders in the Congress.

The I-T officials were in for a surprise when they discovered a diary, hidden in his bedroom, with suspicious entries in it.

Govindaraj's contacts are not just restricted to Karnataka, he is close to even those residing in New Delhi.

The diary had entries of individuals' initials against which it detailed the amount of money that was received from and given to.

It also contained details of a staggering Rs 600 crore that was given to initials like AICC, AP, M Vora, SG Office and RG Office.

The initials were allegedly deciphered as All India Congress Committee (AICC), M Vora (Motilal Vora). SG office (Sonia Gandhi Office), RG office (Rahul Gandhi office) and DGS (Digvijaya Singh).

Govindaraj had been summoned for questioning by the I-T department. But he said that the handwriting wasn't his.

The Congress too had claimed that the diary was fake and was an attempt to malign them. The BJP, however, sought a detailed investigation into it.

Soon after, the Congress government in Karnataka scrapped the controversial steel flyover as allegations of bribe charges came to the fore.

Allegations went far beyond the state borders with the names of Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi coming forward.

Replying to Swati Chaturvedi's tweet, Rajeev Chandrasekhar pointed out that the "diary" is a creation of Rahul Gandhi's favourite, DK Shivakumar.

Chandrasekhar went on to say that the "diary of BJP CM" was brought into the picture ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, in an attempt to counter the diary that was recovered from Govindaraj's residence in 2017.

Rajeev Chandrasekhar further stated that DK Shivakumar found himself neck-deep in I-T and money laundering cases after the raids in 2017.

"He (DK Shivakumar) has tried using this fake diary before, but has flopped because everyone knew what it was," read Chandrasekhar's tweet.

In a press release, Rajeev Chandrasekhar stated that this was yet another classic example of how the Congress uses politics as a forum to mislead and distract voters from real issues.

In the tweet, Chandrasekhar also speaks about how the Congress has followed the Cambridge Analytica pattern. Furthermore, Chandrasekhar stated that when things don't go in Rahul's favour, "a friendly journo" would make an entry to distract the attention of the voters from the scams in the family.
