New Delhi: A massive fire broke out on Wednesday on the fifth floor of Pandit Deen Dayal Antyodaya Bhawan of the CGO complex in the national capital. Delhi Fire Services officials said that it started from the office of Ministry of Social Justice Empowerment and Disability.

The Fire department got a call regarding the blaze at 8:34 am. Twenty-five tenders were rushed to the CGO complex that houses important government offices, according to officials. 

Fire department personnel are trying to douse the flames. No injury has been reported so far, they said.

The incident took place days after a fire broke out at Hotel Arpit Palace in Karol Bagh which claimed 17 lives. Rakesh Goel, the owner of Hotel Arpit Palace, was arrested in connection with the massive fire.

The national capital saw another fire break-out on March 1, at a cosmetics factory in Sangam Park. However, there were no injuries or casualties reported in the incident.

In West Delhi's Naraina, a massive fire was reported from a commercial building in the month of February. According to the Delhi Fire Service, 23 fire tenders were rushed to the spot after they had received a call. The cause of the fire was not immediately known according to reports.

Due to several fire cases in the national capital, the drive against errant hotels have been intensified by the Delhi government. The fire safety certificates of 27 establishments have been cancelled due to various violations in Karol Bagh area, where 17 people were killed at a massive fire in a hotel.
