AgustaWestland case accused Rajiv Saxena will give a statement regarding becoming an approver in the case before Patiala Court Judge Samar Vishal.

According to sources, on 5th March, before the Patiala court judge Samar Vishal, Saxena will give his statement. According to experts, an approver is a person who confesses to a crime and accuses another. If Rajiv Saxena becomes an approver, it will be major trouble for the other accused in the case.

According to the Enforcement Directorate, Saxena’s company received kickbacks from Gordian Sarl (Tunisia) and IDS Technologies (Tunisia), a firm allegedly set up by another accused in the AgustaWestland chopper case, Gautam Khaitan.

Investigators are trying to catch a money trail which was allegedly illegally earned by Saxena through the high profile chopper deal which was supposed to happen in UPA’s government time.

Apart from Saxena, the Indian government successfully extradited most wanted middleman Christen Michel who bribed various officers in the top Ministry of Defence and IAF officers along with top politicians. In the case, many congress leaders are also facing alleviation.

ED in its charge sheet claimed that main company AgustaWestland International Ltd, based in the UK, had paid an amount of € 58 million through Gordian Services Sarl and IDS Sarl, both based in Tunisia.

Gordian Services Sarl and IDS Sarl further misappropriated the money by giving consultancy contracts to Interstellar Technologies Ltd, Mauritius, whose beneficiary turned out to be Saxena.

The money was further transferred to the other two companies belonging to Saxena’s wife who owns UHY Saxena, Dubai, and Matrix Holdings Ltd, Dubai and others. Saxena’s wife Shivani Saxena has been already arrested.

The Indian government along with another accused Deepak Talwar extradited from the UAE just this year. Like other operations, this one was planned and executed as per the order of NSA Ajit Doval.
