Superstar Rajinikanth's 2.0 witnessed fantastic growth at the box office across the country during the last weekend. In many centres, the multilingual film posted its best numbers in the four-day opening weekend.

The film has earned Rs 400 crore nett worldwide, leaving behind Fantastic Beasts, reports trade analysts Ramesh Bala. Giving away the total collection of the movie in first four days, Bala mentioned that 2.0 collects 52.5 million USD (Rs 367 crore), while Fantastic Beasts made 40.2 million USD (Rs 281 crore) at the ticket window.

In fact, 2.0 has given Rajini the biggest Hindi film hit ever. The film has earned Rs 97.25 crore in four days in its dubbed Hindi version. That's a tremendous achievement.

Meanwhile, the makers, from their official Twitter handle, has claimed that the flick has breached into Rs 400 crore club. "History in the making! 400 CRORES WORLDWIDE! Not just a blockbuster, it's a MEGA BLOCKBUSTER! ???????? #2Point0MegaBlockbuster. [sic]" the official handle from Lyca Productions read.

On the other hand, Rajini's fans in Bengaluru have filed a complaint against the people who have violated the copyright Act to Bhasker Rao, IPS ADGP.

The written complaint read, " We have learnt that you and many of the people are receiving links of the movie 2.0 in their WhatsApp and Facebook which is against copyrights Act as well as the loss to the producer who has invested in the movie. (SIC)" 

 

The movie is a sequel to the 2010 blockbuster Enthiran, the film sees Akshay Kumar in the role of an antagonist, Pakshirajan, a cellphone-hating mutant scientist. Rajinikanth reprises his role as Dr Vaseegaran and robot Chitti from the original film.

The film also features Adil Hussain, Sudhanshu Pandey and Amy Jackson in key roles.
